A journey to the Galapagos is a passage into one of the world's most protected natural sanctuaries. Part of this privilege involves understanding the essential procedures designed to preserve its unique integrity. While rigorous, this process is the very system that safeguards this priceless treasure, and as your dedicated specialists, we ensure it is a seamless part of your experience.
Your journey begins with entry into mainland Ecuador, for which a passport with at least six months of validity remaining from your arrival date is required. Visa requirements vary by nationality; as part of our comprehensive service, we will verify the specific regulations that apply to you. In fact, to ensure complete peace of mind from the start, we conduct a preliminary verification of your travel documents before your booking is finalized.
The next stage is the crucial gateway to the islands themselves. Before boarding your flight to the Galapagos, you will complete three mandatory steps. First is the Biosecurity Baggage Inspection (SICGAL), a careful inspection of all luggage to prevent any foreign organic material from contaminating the ecosystem.
Next, you will purchase the Transit Control Card (TCT) for approximately $20 USD per person, payable in cash. Finally, you will pay the Galapagos National Park Entrance Fee, which is confirmed to increase to $200 USD per person from August 1st, 2024.
As your guides, we provide detailed assistance to ensure these formalities are nothing more than a smooth and simple step on your extraordinary journey.
